My Meditation Journey: From Overstimulated to Centered
My relationship with meditation began in 2005. I had just been diagnosed with ADHD and read that meditation could improve focus and brain function. But when I closed my eyes, I was overwhelmed — it felt like rush hour in a Tokyo crosswalk. I gave up quickly.
Years later, during my 2012 yoga teacher training, I revisited the practice. This time, I noticed the potency of just a few minutes of breath and stillness. But it wasn’t until 2017 that I truly committed.
What began as five minutes of conscious breathing turned into a daily ritual. Over time, I’ve studied with respected teachers, explored trauma-informed practices, and logged thousands of hours in personal meditation. This free guided practice distills everything I’ve learned into a short, powerful experience.
